Samsung to release Galaxy Note 10.1 this month
Latest addition to portfolio, announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, to have screen almost double the size of its predecessor
Samsung is to launch its Galaxy Note 10.1 device later this month, an extension to its Galaxy Note product portfolio.
It is powered by a 1.4GHz processor and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It houses a five megapixel main camera, 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera, HD video playback and recording, along with either 16, 32 or 64GB of internal memory, expandable by up to 64GB with a microSD card.
It features S Note, which enables users to combine notes or sketches together with web content, images and other digital media into their own personalised storyboards.
Users can also search, obtain information and drag and drop the cropped images and content onto S Notes without having to switch between screens.
Students can watch a lecture streamed live on the device while making notes on S Note, and can also read a full textbook while annotating it.
Also featured on the Note 10.1 is Samsung’s Hubs, Apps, ChatON and AllShare Play services.
Samsung UK and Ireland telecommunications and networks division vice president Simon Stanford said: “Following the success of the very first Galaxy Note which we launched at the end of last year, we’re delighted that our UK customers will now be able to experience the evolution of this device for themselves.
“The Galaxy Note 10.1 is a product we are very excited about and will offer our customers a new way to use and experience a tablet device. As well as being able to consume content such as videos, photos, document and the Internet, the Galaxy Note 10.1 also gives them the power to produce, create and customise that same content – something they won’t get from any other product on the market.”
